“The fact that my continuous and public rejection of Christianity does not worry me in the least should suggest to you just how inadequate I think your reasons for being a Christian are.”
— Sam Harris (Letter to a Christian Nation)
There are too many religions to just say that there is only one right way. If there is a God it doesn’t make any sense to say there is only one true religion.
There is absolutely no scientific proof that God exists. Statistically, prayer is proven to be useless, all the miracles in the Bible left no evidence behind, and the fact that God has never made him(or her)self publicly known in a way that is beyond the shadow of a doubt speaks volumes. To believe something on faith alone is a cop out and an insult to human reasoning. This is why Christianity and religion in general is false.
“It (Christianity) is one among an infinite number of private ‘faiths,’ which do not disturb me in the least as long as its adherents agree to leave me alone.”
First as a human, it is illogical to believe in God. It is all on faith. You have just as much reason to believe in anything else. Just because there is a book written by someone is not enough. Secondly, it offers an anthropomorphized God that is even more hard to swallow. Why would a being who thinks just as we do act in such secrecy, and also let horrible things happen? Once again it shows how irrational the belief is. Finally, the paradoxes God presents in Christianity are innumerable. There are many other things to discuss, but those are a few in particular.
Christianity is as unlikely to me as any religion. It was something that was made up thousands of years ago to explain things we couldn’t grasp or explain, such as the origins of life. As we begin to better understand those things, though we still have much to learn about our world and where life came from, we need to shed the crutches of Christianity and other ridiculous religions.
Even though I’m not a religious person, I for one dont find christianity useless, I personally go to it when I feel my intelligence needs to be insulted… The pure concept of it defies human reasoning
A lot of Christians I know scoff at the idea of mythological Gods, because it’s “silly” and “unbelievable”. How can they say that I believe that a god came down in the form of a man, died for all of our “sins”, and rose from the dead. That is no less unbelievable than the stories of other Gods. I believe that Jesus was a great man, who did good things, but that’s about it. He’s a great role model, but to believe the rest is just silly to me. I love everyone and our whole world, but I don’t feel the need to put a label on that.
The idea of trying to brainwash someone into being a Christian (or anything else) sickens me. As long as you are a loving person (black, white, man, woman, gay, straight) you’re going to be fine. I wish people would worry about bigger issues in this world than trying to convert perfectly wonderful people into “Christians”. It’s just a label, and shouldn’t matter. Especially when so many so called Christians do not live a Christian lifestyle.
Why don’t we all just focus on loving each other than fussing how we spiritually define ourselves?
If in fact a historical Jesus did exist, I highly doubt that he insisted that he was here to bring forth to mankind a new religion and they should call it Christianity. The only reason Christianity exists is because Jesus’ supposed followers kept it alive. Unfortunately Christianity has strayed away from the teachings of Jesus. Instead of following the “love thy neighbor” teachings, many Christians (not all of them) believe that it is ok to hate or not associate with others for the following reasons if not more: 1) you are a part of any Earth Religion…Wicca, Native American, Druidism etc. and/or any other religion other than Christianity 2) alternative lifestyles including LGBT, 3) or anyone they believe to be a sinner…what ever happened to “Let he who has no sin cast the first stone?”…
Back on track. I’m not so sure if Christianity is any more false than any other religion but I do know this. All religions are created by man, the Bible was written by many different men and was put together by men. Many of it was written by men under the influence of argot fungus which grew on the grain and wine back in those times. This fungus was psychedelic in nature. It’s all just silly religion is. The myths can be beautiful but if one takes it too seriously they miss the point…Instead of religion why can’t we just be nice to each other.

I’m not sure why I received an invitation to this event but I don’t believe in God. I believe in science.

You cannot prove that Christianity is true. You might as well believe in a flying spaghetti monster.

Therefore, the “holy impregnation” by some HG is not true.

Religion arrives at a small location.
